To the Bittner Family I headed up the Iran program for over 25 years and cosidered Bob one of the best.He was a true professional. No matter the task he willingly accepted it with a smile. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Bob and will always remember him. When I retired two years ago Bob came to my office to thank me for the opportunity to work for me. It was I who was exteremely thankful for his service. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

In 2005, it was my pleasure to begin working again with Bob Bittner after working with him from 1987 to 2002. Wherever we were employed, Bob and I were helpful to each other -- we did the same on the Iran Litigation Project. Bob's strength on the "Iran" project was his mastery of all matters relevant to the contract. His warmth, kindness, willingness to assist other Team members, and ability to untangle the most snarled-up task made him an absolutely essential member of our Team. Bob will be missed and the world in general will be a lesser place without him. I will miss my friend for a long time. I just wish for him fair winds and gentle seas in his eternal rest. Rest well, Bob. It's time for you to find a safe harbor -- and peace. Your friend, Dave

Barb and Family, Maureen called me today with the sad news about bobby. I know you dont know who I am, but bob and I were cousins, everytime I was sent to Va for school in the military, I always made time to go and visit aunt Kay and family at the house on the river. Bob and I would take out the Purple boat and go looking for arrow heads and shark teeth. Bob was always a kind person who enjoyed people and life. He will be missed very much by all, and im sure that throughout the years he has touched many many people.... I know its been many years since we last saw each other but the memories will for ever remain fresh.. Please take care lots of love and our deepest sympathy... Bob & Diana Lyons and family

Dear Barb, Chris, Jimmy and Dave, I am so very sorry to hear this terrible news. Bob was such a wonderful neighbor and friend...When you lived in the Sugarland neighborhood, we could always rely on Bob to give a helping hand no matter what he had going on. We all enjoyed Jimmy and Chris at the time you still lived in Sterling. (Dave wasnt here yet)

Bob, I'll never forget all the laughs we had on our trips to Norfolk and elswhere on our Navy Reserve weekends. You were a 4.0 sailor and most importantly a 4.0 human being. I always admired you for the kindness and consideration you gave to everyone you met. You were the consummate good guy and a great friend. You will be greatly missed.

Bob, you were a great friend and a great person. The memories I have of our trips and experiences in the Naval Reserve are unforgettable. You always had a story to tell that would just make me laugh and made the long trips on the road so much fun. There wasn’t a bad bone in your body, just a great and loving human being. Bob, you will be missed dearly, but the great memories will always be there.

I am so sorry. Words can not express this day. You always reminded me of Dad. I will always cherish our summers at the lake and how you helped me with my bike. You were a VERY COOL Uncle to me as a child. I know Barbara and the boys will cherish every moment they had with you. All my love. Susan
