Obituary of Stephen Chester Lebo

Stephen Chester Lebo 56 passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012. Born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, August 13 1955. He was the son of the late Reuben Chester Lebo and is survived by his mother Mary Lebo of Virginia Beach, wife Deborah Lebo of Fairfax, daughter Sarah Lebo of New York City, son Austin Lebo (and wife Kaitlyn) and granddaughter Bailey of Valley Center, CA. Raised in Virginia Beach, he was an active boy scout obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, collector of coins and stamps, and developed a strong interest in geology. He graduated in 1973 from Bayside High School. In the fall of '73 he attended Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA where he and his wife met, Deborah. They married in 1974 and moved to Ft. Hood where he served in the Army. He continued his education at Central Texas Junior College and graduated from the University of Texas (hook 'em horns). An internship led to a 27 year career as a cartographer at The Central Intelligence Agency. He retired September 2011. Stephen often enjoyed the mountains, photography, The Hunt For Red October, Continuing his extensive collection of coins, rocks, and stamps, was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, museums and the arts, gardening, birding, and most importantly Sunday afternoons listing to A Prarie Home Companion. He will be missed as a son, as a father, loving companion, as a friend, co-worker, and neighbor. The burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA April 27 2012 at 10am (be there at 9:30am). 54 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church April 28 2012 at 2pm, reception to follow at the church. 651 Drainsville Road, Herndon, VA In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation in memory of Stephen to your favorite charity or one of Steve's favorite charities list below. - Presbyterian Children's Home of the Highlands, www.pchh.org National Park Conservation association, www.npca.org
