Virginia Katherine Virtue Ingalls Foster Erichsen died on Sunday, May 6, 2012, in her home in Herndon, Virginia. A long time resident of West Ox Road, Herndon, VA. She is survived by son Craig J Foster, his wife Mary and grandsons Alex, Casey and Kyle Foster, daughter Julie K. Logan, granddaughter, Evangeline M. Myers and husband Robert L. Myers IV, Great granddaughter, Ava Katherine Myers, son Brian L. Foster and his companion Tim McGrath, daughter Nancy S. Fitzgibbon, her husband Brian S. Fitzgibbon, grandson Maurice (Reece) E. Fitzgibbon, and granddaughter Olivia K. Fitzgibbon and daughter Lisa Ann Foster and her husband Steven Hinsley (deceased). Born Virginia Katherine Virtue Ingalls March 31, 1921 in Portland, Maine and as a child she moved and grew up in Bath Maine. She was a member of the Army WAC from 1943 to 1946. After WWII she lived and worked in Washington, DC and then married John I. Foster. Living in Virginia she raised five children then divorced, worked as a Realtor and later remarried to Broder Erichsen (USN) in 1974. As a senior she enjoyed participating in The Senior Olympics and traveled the country participating in the games and winning many gold medals. She was a long time member of The Fairfax County Golden Rackets. Last year she was a guest of the White House and met with President Obama as one of the oldest surviving WWII Army WAC's. She will be missed. Her final resting place will be with her parents and sister in Oak Grove Cemetery of Bath, Maine. She will be cremated and Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street in Herndon, VA on Saturday, May 12, 2012, during the hours of 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
