My first and only sister in law set the bar high for the rest of us. One I have never been able to reach. How she kept up with soccer and swim team and drama and kids school activities and work and have parties where not a single person was left wanting for anything and STILL never forgot a birthday or even other peoples anniversaries is beyond me. And always with a smile. An angel on earth during her time with us. It was too short. And there will forever be a hole left that can never be re-filled. I love you my "sister" I never looked at you as anything other than family even if only by marriage. You always had kind words for me and I miss you already.

Betty was not only my neighbor but my good pal and buddy. Everyone was always welcomed in Betty's house at any time. She was a warm and caring mother. Our kids grew up together whether it be Trick or Treating, building snow forts, or playing soccer on her front lawn. One summer day Betty and I decided to rent two barely waterproof paddle boats on Lake Ann. The kids, of course, quickly headed to the spraying water fountain. Betty and I shared a slow moving paddle boat with no reverse. We had a laugh about that. I have many fond memories of our years together of parties and fun times. I will miss Betty's friendly manner and zest for life. It's hard to know that the gate on my fence will no longer take me to Betty's front door and warm smile. Betty touched my life in many ways.

Betty was a fun-loving, caring and beautiful person inside and out. She was so positive, upbeat and energetic that it was contagious. And she always made you feel welcomed with her smile, and loved, with her comforting words when you were feeling down. I remember when she and I took a 3 day trip to Disney World. We had so much fun. We rode all the rides, took pictures with a couple of Disney characters, and I believe we got those Mickey Mouse Ears that had your name sewn on the back of it. That was one of the best times I had with her. Betty will be missed by all who loved her, especially her husband and children, and her family whom she loved dearly. We will have her in our hearts and minds forever.

Although its been many many years since I last saw Betty, I remember it as though it was yesterday her wonderful smile, warmth and sense of humor. Betty was extraordinarily kind and fun to be around. As kids from Jocelyn St we experienced many memorable times whether it was games of kick the can or dodge ball or the impromptu water fight Betty was always a joy to be around. Betty was the fun, sweet, kind and loving one in our bunch of kooky girls. She helped keep us out of trouble but she was always up for good fun! She loved her husband, kids, family and friends fiercely. A consummate and wonderful hostess, she made everyone feel welcome and made sure they got plenty of food! She noticed the little things that made people happy. My youngest son always loved when she had a party so he could enjoy the chocolate fountain. I commented on that and the next gift he got from Betty and her family was a mini-chocolate fountain. She was a wonderful person and we will miss her greatly.

There are few people in this world, either alive or having passed, that we can think of that draw nothing but positive images and memories. Betty Weirick was one of those kinds of people. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people that we knew. We are deeply saddened by her passing, and for the loss felt by her family. Her presence on our block will be missed.
