Obituary of Bob Bridge

Bob Bridge, age 78 on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home in Mt. Jackson, VA with his family at his side. Born Robert Lee Bridge on June 4, 1932 to the late Lee and Virginia (Costello) Bridge in Herndon, VA. After graduating high school, Bob served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was an avid collector of, and gifted in the restoration of antiques. In 1951 Bob married Christine Grinder and was happily married until her death in 1988. Together they had 4 children: daughters, Barbara (GH) Wright, Patricia (Donald) Swann, and Debra (Harry) Shymansky; son, Richard (Margo) Bridge. In addition to his children, Bob is survived by his brothers, Gilbert (Jean) Bridge and David (Marie) Bridge; his sister, Pauline (Jerry) Foster, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson which was born this past July, and Bob was able to see and enjoy. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Sherman Bridge and Virgil "Nut" Bridge and his sister, Emma Lou Bicksler. Family will receive friends Monday, January 10, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20170. Funeral services will held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA.
