Georgia Anna Johnson was born December 12, 1921 to the late Henry Chapple and Della Lindsey in Charlotte Court House, Virginia. She departed this life on June 4, 2012 at Cameron Glen Nursing Home. At an early age she joined Morrison Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House, VA. In New York she joined the Greater File Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Jasper Simmons. She was a great cook and her macaroni and cheese was the bomb. Georgia could always be counted on to babysit. Georgia married the late Reginald Johnson in Baltimore, Maryland,. She later moved to New York City where she provided domestic services for a physician. Then she had Tyrone, the apple of her eye, pride and joy, light of her life, whom could do no wrong. In 2007, she moved to Reston, Virginia to be closer to her son and Latrice. Later she moved to Cameron Glen Nursing Home. She enjoyed fussing at Latrice and getting her hair braided while watching "The Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy". The staff at Cameron Glen also loved her and called her a joy to be around. Her regular activities included listening to music, playing bingo, attending church services and eating chocolate. She was preceded in death by three sisters Maggie Shaw, Mae Willie Chapple and Susie Hicks; brothers Lewis Chapple and Frank Chapple and son John Chapple. She is survived by a son, Tyrone Matthews of Reston, Virginia; two daughter-in-laws Latrice Blackwell Matthews of Reston, Virginia and Ida Braxton Chapple of Richmond, Virginia; two granddaughters, Daphne Lynne Portis and Dawn L. Chapple of Richmond, VA; one great-granddaughter, Letitia A. Portis of Langhorne, Pennsylvania and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
