Obituary of Diane Mannino Bisbee

Diane Mannino Bisbee, age 53, passed away at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 following a courageous 22 month battle with cancer. Diane was born on August 7, 1958, in Portsmouth, NH. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1980. She met Bill Bisbee shortly after graduating and they were married in March 1984. A long time resident of Herndon, Virginia, Diane was extremely active in the community and her children's schools. Diane's life was devoted to her family and friends. Diane loved all creative endeavors: she was a superb baker and cake decorator, loved to entertain, created many amazing costumes and creations for her children, and would undertake any arts and crafts challenge. She was often accused of making "Volunteer" a full-time job. Although it would be impossible to list all of her many efforts here, these illustrate her spirit and commitment to her kids and the community. She was a Girl Scout leader for over fifteen years including being Co-Director / Core Staff of Girl Scout, Camp Fairfax in 2005 - 2011, Elementary School Class Mom for many years, the Yearbook Editor for Lake Anne Elementary School in 2009 - 2011, co-creator of the "games" for the Lake Anne Elementary Spring Fiesta, clerk for the Hiddenbrook Swim Team and more. Diane is survived by her husband Bill, her four children Michelle and Andrea, William, and Gina; mother Olga Mannino; three brothers Philip Mannino, Steven Mannino, and James Mannino. She was preceded in death by her father Lt. Col. Philip Mannino, Sr. Diane's energy, talent, friendship, humor, and love will endure in her family and many dear friends.
