Obituary of Ethel Mae Brizzolara

Ethel M. Brizzolara, 87, died October 8, 2010 in Reston, VA of complications from pneumonia. She was born on September 24, 1923, in Grovetown, GA to George W. Berry and Grace W. Berry. Her husband of 48 years, James J. Brizzolara, died in 2005. Survivors include her daughter, Marcy, son-in-law Mark, and two much beloved granddaughters, Marissa and Miranda, as well as one sister, Edith Phillips of Pageland, SC, and two brothers, Frank Berry of Belvedere, SC and Milton Berry, Sr., of Augusta, GA, in addition to many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She lived in Herndon, VA until her death but was previously a longtime resident of Springfield, VA, and a native of Augusta, GA. She was a beloved mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and friend to all. A devoted mother, she dedicated her life to raising her daughter and later, assisting with her grandchildren. Ethel also worked for many years for the Fairfax County School System, retiring from there in 2000. She lived for many years in Springfield, VA but moved to Herndon to live with her daughter and family in her later years. She brought a smile to all who knew her, and will be missed.
