Obituary of Jackie V. Straley

JACKIE V. STRALEY Jackie V. Straley, 74, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2012 at his home in Herndon, Virginia. Jack also lived part of the year at his home in Clarksburg, WV. Jack was a charter-member of the Cornerstone International Alliance Church in Oakton, Virginia since 1984. In West Virginia he attended the Rivesville Free Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Batton) Straley, son, Karl Straley and his wife Brenda of Summit Point, WV and daughter Kimberley Young and her husband David of Herndon, VA, grandson's Joshua Young, Justin Young and Cody Young and granddaughter Janet Peterson. He is also survived by brother-in-law Frank Angiulli of Bridgeport, WV and sister-in-laws Rita Straley of Richwood, WV, Betty Straley of New Philadelphia, OH and Dorma Straley of Craigsville, WV and many nieces and nephews. Jack was born in Copen, W. Va on January 7, 1938 son of Leander and Adge (Goldsmith) Straley. He is a graduate of Burnsville High School and attended Glenville State College, (W.Va.)Salem College (W.Va.) and Bowie State (Md.) He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1959-1963) and served on the USS Enterprise's maiden voyage on January 12, 1962 and the first international crisis in October 1962. Jack worked for Lockheed in Clarksburg, WV, Burroughs Corporation in Maryland, C3 and GTI in Virginia. In 1986 Jack started his own company, S&S Telnet in Herndon, Virginia where he was active until 2008. Friends may call at the Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA from 5:00 P.M.to 8:00 P.M. on July 9th, 2012. Funeral Services will be held there at 11:00 A.M.on Tuesday July 10th, 2012. There will be a service at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3 ½ miles south on Hwy. 19, Westover, WV at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
