Cáo phó nầy thay thế thiệp tang
Mr. Hà Hửu Nguyễn, 73, died on July 14, 2012, with his family by his side in Ashburn, Virginia.
Mr. Nguyễn was born in the village of Tam Tóa (later Dồng Mỹ), district Dồng Hới, province Quảng Bình, Việt Nam, on October 12, 1938, to Nguyễn Hửu Kỳ and Vỏ Thị Phấn. He was a loving son and brother, helping to care for his mother and brother when his father passed away. When he graduated from high school, he joined the South Vietnamese military in hopes of one day being able to help liberate his village from the Communists. Therefore, Mr. Nguyễn was proud and honored to have the opportunity to be able to serve in the Sở Phòng Vệ Duyên Hải -Sea Commando Forces (Coastal Security Service) of the Nha Kỹ Thuật in Đà Nẵng, Việt Nam, from 1963-1969. Afterwards, he transferred to and proudly served in the Sở Công Tác—Special Missions Services until 1975.
During the time with the Sea Commando Forces, he met, fell in love with and married Elizabeth (Kim-Chi) Nguyễn. They lived in Việt Nam until the fall of Sài Gòn, when they were forced to leave their beloved homeland to escape from the Communist regime. With the generous and open-hearted help of Mr. Harold (Butch) Kerr and his family, they settled in the Washington, DC area, with their five children.
Mr. Nguyễn was a devoted and beloved husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Nguyễn is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Kim-Chi) Thị Nguyễn [Herndon, VA]; son Kim-Hòang Hửu Nguyễn [Herndon, VA], daughter Minh-Trang (Lyly) Hửu Nguyễn [Chantilly, VA], son Quốc-Tuấn (Tony) Hửu Nguyễn [Fredericksburg, VA], daughter Qùynh-Anh (Mimi) Hửu Nguyễn [The Hague, The Netherlands], and son Quốc-Thông (Peter) Hửu Nguyễn and his wife, Mimi Nguyễn [Ashburn, VA]; and 8 grandchildren, Kemaya Nguyễn, Nicolas Nguyễn, Tasmine Nguyễn, Takoda Nguyễn, Ý-Nhi Nina Nguyễn, Minh-Thảo Tiana Nguyễn, Mỹ-Tien Kaili Nguyễn and Quốc-Hòang Maximus Nguyễn.
