Obituary of Jeanne Frances Hollar

Jeanne was born July 23, 1927 in Johnstown PA. to Robert and Eva Ripple. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1945. After graduation Jeanne moved to Arlington, VA .to work for the government at the Pentagon, where she met her future husband, William H. (Buddy) Hollar. They were married on December 31, 1949. Altogether they were married for 41 years, until Buddy's death in July 1991. She worked for Fairfax County Public Schools at Herndon Intermediate School as a cashier in the cafeteria for about 12 years. She retired from there after her first bout of cancer. Jeanne was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Buddy and three brothers, Lee Ripple, Robert Ripple and James Ripple. She was also pre-deceased by son-in-law Dale Kidwell. Jeanne is survived by her children, Karen Kidwell of Warrenton, Kathi Thompson (Ronnie) of Herndon, and William H. (Bill) Hollar,Jr (Carol) of Grottoes, VA. Loving Mamaw to Tara, Toby, Dale,Jr. (Bubba), James and Kelli. Very special great-Mamaw to Aly, Zachary, Nathan, Lily, Jacob, Alex and Danielle. Also survived by her sister, Gladys Rose of Johnstown, PA., a brother, Jack Ripple of Phoenix, AZ. And numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanne was an inspiration to so many people with her spunk and strength. She fought hard and beat cancer twice. Unfortunately, the third time was just too much for her. She will be missed by her family more than anyone can imagine. Sunday dinners will never be the same.
