When I was a child Grandma always made visits with her special. She always had lots of hugs, great food & our favorite dessert. I was probably no more than 4 when I learned how to spell my first word... Ice Cream... Granny Ruth used to ask my mom if the kids could have some "I-C E-C R-E-A-M" - then a few minutes later Gram would come out of the kitchen with bowls of the creamy good stuff. It didn't take me long to figure out what she was spelling (and for me to ask mom for it at home - spelled out, of course :) )
