Mal - I miss your hugs. I miss the feeling I got, even as an adult, knowing I would see you soon and the smile that would spread across my face. I miss your giant pocket-book full of treasures and sweet candies. I miss getting a card before a holiday comes that just let me know you cared. I miss your handwriting. But besides what I miss, I want you to know that you helped me grow, learn, and drive forth. Because without your endless selflessness, your compassion for others, and the love only a grandmother could give to a child like me you taught me the one thing important in life - to love. Hilda was as true a friend as anyone could have. Her suffering is over. Jackie and Hilda spent many moments side by side at the slot machines. Now they can be side by side again.
