Randy was the big brother I never had. We spent a good deal of time together during the first 4 or 5 years of my life.
He provided me many opportunities to learn incredibly interesting facts about the world we lived in during the
late forties.
I couldn't wait to partake in the scientific discoveries he shared with me. He would bury small animals and
when I would visit Grandpa and Grandma's farm, we would did up their remains and study the decomposing
process that was underway. He was also an expert in utilizing the directions for making bows, arrows, and
other Indian tools found in the Shredded Wheat boxes. Under his tutelage I would make a bow and arrow and
practice, practice and practice so I could be an expert marksman like him. I never accomplished that
goal. He provide me with other opportunities to participate in many other "firsts" in my young life.
He was a born teacher and I admired him greatly. He was always patient and encouraging. He was always
there to praise my slightest success.
I will always remember when we went out to the neighbor's pasture across from the farm and he showed
me the many hollowed out areas along the hillsides. He told me they were created by the buffalo. I spent
many hours hoping for the opportunity of seeing a buffalo creating one of those hollows. Unfortunately,
I never did.
I think of Randy often. He was one of a kind to me. I'm looking forward to the day we will meet again in
heaven.

Sean and Kathy We were sorry to hear of Randy's passing. We were glad that we when up to Norfolk and seen him just before he left for Virginia. We have been friends for a long time and we will miss him greatly but we can still hear his laugh and see his 'who me' smile. We are sure that he is looking down on all of us with Pat beside him. We will always have them in our memories.
