Josephine Wallace Brenneman
Josephine Wallace Brenneman, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2012 at age 91. Her parents were the late Allan Bilyeu Wallace and Madeline Heinitsh Wallace of Lancaster. Josephine (Joey) the oldest of twins was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on March 24th, 1921. Her twin sister, Jane Wallace McSween passed away in April 2007.
Joey graduated from McCaskey High School in 1939 and went on to attend Moravian Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Joey married Major John (Jack) Louis Brenneman, USMC on August 15th, 1945 at The Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Their marriage lasted 64 years until Jack's death in 2009.
Joey and Jack had two children John Jr. and Holly. The newly married couple moved to Philadelphia and in a few years returned to live in Lancaster. Jack's job responsibility took the family back to the Philadelphia area, then to Northern Virginia before they retired in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. After Jack's death, Joey moved to Reston, Virginia where she could be close to her daughter.
Joey held top secretarial positions for Wyeth Laboratories and The American Automobile Association and was an Analyst at The Central Intelligence Agency. She was a docent at Wheatland in Lancaster and a member of The Junior League of Lancaster. She served on the board of The Brookline Club in the Philadelphia area and on the board of Welcome Wagon in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her son, John Louis Brenneman, Jr. and his wife Esther Astudillo of San Antonio, Texas, her daughter Holly Florence Brenneman and her husband Edward Sharp of Ashburn Virginia. Her brother, Allan B. Wallace Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii, her nephew, David Wallace McSween and his wife Ann McSween of Alexandria, Virginia and her niece, Gayle Wallace of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held at The Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia on Friday, October 12th, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. Family and friends are all invited to attend. The Interment will be at Lancaster Cemetary on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at 1:30 P.M.
