Her faith was an inspiring example to all of us that knew her. Now she can be reunited with her husband Jimmy for the eternities.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Thank you, Mrs. Murphy, for having me in your home so many days and nights while I was growing up. You always made me feel so welcome. Even after Laurie and did silly things like putting way too much Tide in your washing machine and filling the room with suds. You will always be loved, missed and remembered and you will live on in the hearts of your family and all of those who's lives you touched. Much love and many thanks. Meagan, Jon & Jeff Church

I have so many memories growing up with you. In your home, in your church, and walks around Herndon. You and Granddaddy gave me my most important gift in life when you planted my "mustard seed". Because of the two of you I knew where to look when I was lost. And because of this I know I will see you again. The conversations we had and the advise and input from you in my adult life will always be with me. And I am forever grateful for them. You were my rock at times and gave me a clear vision of the big picture. I wish I could be there as the laid you to rest, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. So I will say a prayer for you and rejoice that you are with much loved and missed family. And I will forever hold you in my heart. Granddaughter #2

As long as I live I will never forget the first time that we met Jim & Viola at St. Catherine Parish many years ago. He introduced her as "my bride" in a way so tender that that is the way I have always thought of her. They were a beautiful couple! After Jim died, Viola took his place at daily Mass leading the last decade of the rosary. I will always think of them when I begin the last decade! God bless them both! Requiescant in Pacem!

Last Thanksgiving we all got together and I will never forget the big bright smile Grandma had on her face when I handed her my son. Her face lit up like it was the first time she had ever held a child before. She was so happy and so bright. I am glad I have pictures of her holding him and his sister to show him when he grows up. And tell him how great and wonderful his Great Grandmother was and how she held him for the first time when he was only a few weeks old.

One night I took Grandma to an evening event at church. Together we hung out and talked and she introduced me to all her friends at church. That night we talked about so many different things, it was wonderful!!!! I learned so much about Grandma and Grandpa that evening. And as the evening went on I was getting a little sleepy and Grandma was wide awake being a social butterfly. :) Before I knew it, it was about midnight and we decided it was time to go home. After we got home Grandma and I stayed up a few more hours and talked and talked. I will never forget the day that I hung out with Grandma the Party Animal. :) <3

I called Grandma one day after an argument with my husband. I was talking to her about that whole submission thing. LOL. I said "grandma...I can deal with the theory of that...but what if you married a jerk?" She laughed and said..."I don't know...I didn't marry a jerk" Maybe you had to be part of the conversation...but we were both laughing pretty hard after she said that. (No offense attending towards my husband...LOL...I was mad at the time ;)
