James S. Colclough Mr. James Stuart (Jim) Colclough of Williamsburg, Virginia died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Reston Hospital in Virginia. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Highway, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. Jim was born on August 2, 1936 to the late Frances and Alfred Colclough in Gouverneur, New York. He grew up in Kingston, New York and graduated from Kingston High School. He attended Cortland State College and then served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1955 to 1957. After his service in the Army, Jim completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at Cortland State College. While at Cortland, he majored in Physical Education and served as the president of Beta Phi Epsilon fraternity. In 1960, Jim married Marie Lake of Flushing, New York. Jim worked as a physical education teacher and basketball coach at several schools in New York State. He then served as basketball coach and Athletic Director at Southampton College, CW Post College and Monmouth University. While at Southampton College, he coached the basketball team to the NCAA Division 2/3 final round. He also led the athletic program at Monmouth University from NCAA Division 2 to Division 1. Jim served as an Executive Director with the United States Tennis Association and Deputy Tournament Referee for the US Tennis Open. He retired in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Alfred Colclough of Kingston, New York and his brother, Walter Colclough of Saugerties, New York. Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family always came first to him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Colclough; daughter Wendy Culberson and husband Ron of Herndon, Virginia; daughter Sande Ferreira and husband Joe of Plano, Texas; son Kyle Colclough and wife Jackie of Herndon, Virginia; and seven loving grandchildren, Caitlin Culberson, Ryan Culberson, JJ Ferreira, Sean Ferreira, William Colclough, Annie Colclough and Kate Colclough.
