Ray always had a great sense of humor. I could always count on him to give me a chuckle to start my day! I met Ray at Navy Federal Credit Union and we stayed really good friends up to the end! He will be greatly missed, but definately not forgotten!!!

Just wanted to say how sorry we were to hear about Ray's passing. He was a really neat guy--funny & generous. Janene thought of him as another uncle. We always enjoyed his company. TD--at this time of the year we think about the stable that Ray made with all of it's "realism". We will miss him. Paul & Jeanie

I met Uncle Ray through his niece, Angela. I was nervous to first meet him because I knew he was so special to Angela and his family. However, I found that I did not have to have a worry at all. I saw him, said "Hello Ray", and put my hand out for a hand shake. He looked at me like I had 5 heads and said "AWW COME HERE!!!!", and threw his arms out for a hug. And let me tell you, that hug was one of the warmest and most genuine hugs I have ever received. Uncle Ray and I became fast friends that day... we had things in common, agreed on a lot, and he made me laugh. Such a humorous man.
I called him "U-dot-R-dot" from the beginning because I thought it was absolutely hilarious that he signed his cards "U.R." He made everyone around him smile and laugh. His eyes were so kind. You couldn't help but know that he was a wonderful human being. His partner, Larry, was also a fantastic man; I can understand how they ended up together and stayed together for so long.
Even though I did not see Uncle Ray very much, or even have many experiences with him... I knew he was so loved by his family and for the short time I knew him, by me also. He was a unique soul, youthful spirit, quick witted, and feisty (in a good way!) ;) In short, he IS AWESOME!
Uncle Ray, you're the man. Thanks for the best hug I've ever gotten. <3

Ray was my best friend Angela's Uncle. We were best friends since we were nine so I had the pleasure of seeing him at Angela's house often all throughout growing up especially during the holidays.I remember going to Ray's Pizza with him when we were really little. It was such a fun day and one year for Christmas he gave me a pearl necklace that I still have to this day.I thought it was so sweet of him to do that. I love how he went along with Angela and I and our whole we are twins like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen thing for... well forever. Whenever I saw him... he would be like "Angelina is that you?" He was a kind man and a cool man. And I loved his sense of humor and that he thought farts were awesome too. He will be missed but his memory will live on forever.

If you have ever been to a restaurant or even out and about with my Uncle Ray, you will understand my title. He had a way with people and animals (that he didn't throw coats over...Poor Spencer never got over that traumatic incident, haha). I remember one time when visiting my Uncle, he was kind enough to drive 5 hours to Virginia Tech. I wanted to go to the school so bad and had hopes of transferring there, so he decided during my visit that we would go and take a tour. So we get there and mind you—it would have been me touring the school, paying the thousands of dollars if I got accepted—but did the (female) tour guide pay an inkling of attention to me? Absolutely not—it was Uncle Ray who had her attention. Anybody who came in contact with him, just loved him and he sure got a kick out of it as well. I always told him he was a tease to these ladies for obvious reasons. My Uncle was one of my best friends. He was always there for me when times were tough. He was the first person I came out to and he was always willing to give me advice. He will be missed greatly but I know that somewhere, he is having peanut butter, venison and all the other "foods that were eaten at the last supper." I love you, Big Rainbow! Love, little rainbow!

Ray got his drivers learners permit a bit later than most and I went practice driving with him whenever he was in town. One day we were cruising in that yellow Chevelle and Ray hit a squirrel! He was absolutely mortified and wanted to go back and check on it! I reminded him we were caught in traffic so probably not a good idea, and besides who likes squirrel soup! We had a good laugh and kept on truckin'! Missed by your little brother!

Raymond was the best brother and friend a person could have. He was generous to a fault. He was funny and enthusiastic about shopping...his motto.."you do not know if you need it until you see it".. so we went down every aisle.I called him the original Mall Maiden.Always, whenever he came to visit,he thought of buying for others. He always went home for something that he picked out for a friend. I will miss him more than words could possibly say. Ray,I love you...
