Obituary of Roland William Perry

Roland W. Perry, 68, of Herndon, VA, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012, after enduring a long battle with cancer. Roland was one of ten children, born to William F. Perry Sr. and Olive Massey Perry. He was born in Washington, D.C. and retired in 1994 as Assistant Chief of Police for the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. Roland is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Martha L. Perry; children Craig (Michele) Perry, Heather Perry, Michael Perry; two granddaughters, Hannah and Olivia Perry; stepchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Lee and Michael Clark. He is also survived by siblings, Marie (Gerald) Warren, Eugene(Bernice) Perry, Joseph (Patricia )Perry, Lucille (Richard)Bren, John (Victoria) Perry and James Perry. He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Cecelia Forsyth, Alice Hagwood and William F. Perry Jr. Family will receive friends from 6-8PM at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St. Herndon VA, 20170 on Thursday December 20, 2012. A funeral mass will be held the following day at 11AM at Saint Mary of Sorrows Historic Church, Fairfax Station Road & Ox Road (Route 123) Fairfax Station, VA 22039. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be made in his name to Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042 or Dollard-Suter Family Fund, C/O Police Federal Credit Union, 9100 Presidential Parkway, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
