James Michael Hauck 1938-2012 James Michael Hauck passed away at his home on Friday, December 21st, in Reston, VA. He had cancer. Jimmy was born in Minnesota but grew up in the small town of Glasco, Kansas. He joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and served for four years. He moved to Virginia in 1960. Jimmy was a construction superintendent for The CECO Corp. He worked for CECO for 37 years. He has left behind his wife, Terrie Vaile Hauck, his two children, Vaile Kathryn Vest, (William Christopher Vest) and David Bishop Bliss, (Andrea Bliss) and three grandchildren, Sarah Vest, Vanessa Bliss and Allison Bliss. His sister, Joan Berg of Long Island and his brother, Jerome Hauck of Oregon also survive him. He has many nieces and nephews who will miss him, too. Jimmy spent many happy summers in Chautauqua, New York. He was a member of the worlds oldest book club, CLSC, and a board member of the Chautauqua Dance Circle. He was a member of The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax. Every year he volunteered at The Kentucky Derby party for PRS. He was a loyal Redskins fan. He was a champion chili cook, a certified barbeque judge and an avid golfer and poker player. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile, his sparkling blue eyes and his loving, generous ways. A memorial service will be held on January 13th at 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to The Chautauqua Dance Circle, PO Box 783, Chautauqua, NY 14722 or to PRS, Inc (Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services) 1761 Old Meadow Road, McLean, VA 22102.
