Obituary of Hugh Harry Lenahan

On Tuesday, December 25, 2012, Hugh H. Lenahan passed away at his home in Reston, VA. He was the loving husband of Nancy, devoted father of Jean Lenahan McCoy, and doting grandfather of Paul McCoy. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces including Edward and Rosemary Lenahan of Clearwater, Florida, and Jean Branigan, of New York City. Additionally, he is survived by his great nephew, Shawn Lenahan and wife, Jill, and his great-great nephews, James and Adam, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Hugh was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 1920. He was one of eight children of Edward and Jeanette Lenahan. Hugh was a graduate of Saint Bonaventure University and a former military officer in the U.S. Air Force. He was a long-time resident of New Windsor, New York, where he retired as a civilian employee of the U.S. Army, U.S. Military Academy at West Point. A life-long devoted Catholic, Hugh was a member of the parish of Saint Joseph Church in Herndon, Virginia. Hugh will be most remembered as the pillar of his family, generous and friendly neighbor, and devout Catholic. Those in the community will miss seeing him during his many daily walks. Interment will be at a later time at Arlington National Cemetery.
