Muriel Boehm Ennis Surrounded by her family, Muriel Boehm Ennis, age 86, passed peacefully into the arms of her savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 18, 2013. Muriel was born August 18, 1926 to Frederick and Alfreida Boehm in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. Her family moved to New Jersey, where she graduated from Millburn High School in 1944 and then from The Berkeley School of Business. Her first secretarial position was on Wall Street at Phelps Dodge Copper Company. She married John Albert Ennis in 1949 and began her 30 year tenure in the Summit Public Schools and the Summit Board of Education, Summit, New Jersey. Her marriage to John Ennis ended in divorce. After her retirement, she actively helped to care for her two grandchildren and then moved to Virginia with her daughter and family in 1996. She will be remembered always for her great laugh, generous spirit, kindness, and sincere interest in others. Her greatest joys were her family, friends, summers at the Jersey Shore and dancing under the moonlight at the Steel Pier. Now we know she is dancing above the stars in Heaven. Mrs. Ennis is survived by her brother, Kenneth Boehm (Annabelle) of Williamsburg, VA, daughter Cheryl Self (Jim) of Herndon, VA, granddaughter Paige McLaughlin (Nathan) of Vienna, VA, grandson Stewart Emenheiser (Marcie) of Woodbridge, VA and three precious great-grandchildren, Connor and Regan McLaughlin, and Tenley Emenheiser. The family would like to express deep gratitude to the compassionate staff at Heritage Hall, and Capitol Caring, in Leesburg, VA. The family will receive visitors at Adams-Green Funeral Home on Thursday Jan 24, 6-8pm, and on Friday, Jan 25, from 11-1pm. The Funeral Service will be at 1pm Friday, with burial immediately following at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA.
