Obituary of Bill Pember Ogg

Bill Pember Ogg, 89, long time resident of Reston died peacefully at home on January 27, 2013. Mr. Ogg was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 15, 1923. He was a long time member of the Rotary Club of Reston and President from 1993-1994. Mr. Ogg served in the U.S. Army during World War II and spent 30 months in the Pacific where he took part in the invasion of Saipan in 1944. After the war, he entered the University of Kansas and graduated in 1949. He was employed with McGraw Hill publishers in New York City, then later with Look Magazine in Des Moines, Iowa. He retired from the National Wildlife Federation in 1986 as Senior Director of Creative Services. Mr. Ogg is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Rae Thomas; two daughters, Elizabeth Hamrick (Jim Hamrick) of Herndon and Patricia Meredith (Chris Meredith) of Sutton, England; and four grandsons.
