Obituary of Constance Drobek

Connie Drobeck passed away after a courageous fight with cancer at her home in Reston Virginia Friday, February 1, 2013. Connie was 68 years of age. Connie was born on February 16, 1944 in Washington DC. She spent her childhood in Falls Church, VA where she graduated from George Masson High School in 1962. She then continued her education at the Philadelphia Museum College of the Art in which she received a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art in 1966. While in college, she met her husband (Bob) and they married in September of 1968. While living in Philadelphia, they gave birth to their son (Greg) and their daughter (Amy). The family went on to live in several cities including Lubbock TX, Rochester NY and Dallas TX before returning to Reston, VA in 2003 with her husband. While in Dallas, Connie started her career in real estate, as an Agent and after returning to Reston, she continued her real estate career as a Branch Administrator with Long & Foster. She took great pride in her career and developed many dear and cherished friendships along the way. She is survived by her husband of 45 years Bob; her children: Greg Drobeck of Columbus, OH and Amy Drobeck of Seattle, WA; her mother: Jessie Steinkamp of Reston; her sister: Susan Steinkamp of Bealeton, VA. She is also survived by her beloved cats Max and Mike. Her interests included her beloved children, weaving, knitting, painting, walks at the Great Falls, snuggles with the cats and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Funeral Service will be held at Vail United Methodist on Thursday February 7, 2013 at 11:00. Reception for family and friends will be held immediately following the Service at the church.
