Obituary of Charles Alan Marlette

Charles Alan Marlette, son of the late Charles and Ruth Marlette, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in November 2012. He was born in Michigan on July 15, 1946 but lived most of his early years in Memphis,Tennessee.
Alan graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and while there joined the Naval Reserves. After graduation he completed his active duty in Northern Virginia as a staff writer for the Navy publication,
All Hands. He was employed by the National Automobile Dealers Association and retired as the Executive Director of the Automotive Trade Association Executives (ATAE).
Alan had a great love of baseball. He enjoyed being involved with his children's sports activities and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, John and his daughter, Jenna; two sisters: Peggy Jean (Dennis) Green and Susan (Howard) Plattner; three nephews: Dylan Robison, Bryan Green and Stephen Green, and the mother of his children, Susan Ann Marlette.
Alan was a prostate cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at www.pcf.org.
