Obituary of Kieko Takata Philpot

KIEKO (TAKATA) PHILPOT, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013. She is preceded in death by Arthur Clarke Philpot, her beloved husband of over 60 years. She leaves her son, Leon Tomiyo Philpot, and two daughters, Anna Mari Philpot and Dora Philpot (Victor) Macia. She also leaves five grandchildren; Katie Philpot (Barton) Vey, Len Tomiyo (Heidi Jo) Philpot, Kevin Takata Starinieri, Anthony Clarke Kinnosuke Starinieri, and Samantha Koto Macia; six great-grandchildren, Paul David Vey, Kacy Jo Philpot, Bryce Tomiyo Philpot, Andrew Harrison Vey, Emma Catherine Vey, and Brock Russell Philpot. The funeral service will be at Community Lutheran Church, 21014 Whitfield Place, Sterling, VA 20165 on Saturday, March 23, at 4:00 PM. The burial service at Arlington National Cemetery will be at a later date where she will join her beloved husband forever more. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the "Wounded Warrior" program at Walter Reed National Medical Center or Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ).
