Being a good Southern girl, I grew up on what is now called Soul Food. When I met Marc and he began bringing me home for dinner, sometimes there were things on the table I had never eaten before. One of the things I remember most is her chili recipe. Served on a bed of rice, with saltines and jelly, it was AMAZING! Although I am now vegetarian, the recipe is ingrained in my memory and I love making it for my son, her grandson, whenever he's around. I'll see you someday, Peg.
