Michael P. Hahn died on April 8, 2013 at his residence in Ashburn, VA following a yearlong battle with brain cancer, he was 63 years old. He was born and raised in Lancaster, PA, the son of the late William C. Hahn and Helen A. Hahn who survives him. Hahn graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1967 and received a Bachelors of Science in Education degree from Duquesne University in 1971. In 1976 he was awarded a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary. On August 10, 1974, he married Judith Ann Schmidt and was faithfully married to her until she died on December 25, 2008. Their marriage produced three children, Matthew of Pittsburgh, PA; Kathryn of Alexandria, VA; and Andrew of Fairfax, VA. Hahn retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Supervisory Special Agent in June 2001 after 23 years of service. During his career with the Bureau he served in the Cincinnati, New York, and Philadelphia Divisions and retired from FBI Headquarters. Following his career in the FBI he was employed as a Director, in the Security Department of the NASDAQ Stock Market and later served as Vice President and Director of Operations at MVM Incorporated. Hahn later founded ExFed Investigations LLC and performed contract and consulting work for the federal government and private entities. Hahn was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Captain in the Military Police Corps from 1971 to 1978. He was also a member of American Legion, post 56 and the society of the former Special Agents of the FBI. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Ashburn, VA where he served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Prior to his illness he was also a volunteer for Evercare Hospice. He is survived by his siblings Mary Kuziel and husband Robert of Ellicott City, MD; Thomas Hahn and wife Diane of Ford City, PA; Stephen Hahn and wife Patty of Reading, PA; and Fr. Peter Hahn of Lancaster, PA. Internment will be at the Quantico National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
