Obituary of Ronald Andrew Butler

Ronald A. Butler, age 74, of Herndon, VA, former resident of Manassas from 1976 to 1983, died on May 2, 2009 at INOVA Cameron Glen Nursing Center, Reston, VA. He was born on June 10, 1934 in Ettrick, VA to the late Ronald and Eleanor Harris Butler. Ronald was retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service. He was an outstanding member of the Manassas Chamber of Commerce. Ronald was also a member of the Elks Lodge # 2406 and the American Legion and was an avid reader who could read a book a day. Ronald was the beloved husband for 24 years of Cathy Butler, loving father of Chip Butler and his wife Elaine of Centreville, MD, Pamela Rose of Woodstock, GA, Lesa Turner and her husband Charles of Gainesville, VA and Mark Butler and his wife Lori of Front Royal, VA, brother of Michael Rathburn of East Lake, OH and Bobby Wieser of Hamilton, MT, proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Thursday, May 21 st at 11am at Arlington National Cemetery.
