I knew Scott since we were little kids. Always looked forward to playing at the lake each summer. The big game was always who could throw who in the lake first, let’s just say I had to change my wet clothes often. He was a good guy who I’ll always have fond memories of. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Scott I miss you. Rest In Peace. Betty

Scott...
I'm being informal here, because that's me. I truly regret us not talking more regularly -- our usual Holiday Chat / New year chat will have to be post-poned for now. I want you to know how much you always meant to me, and how much I've always looked up to you. You are a "Rock" and a very inspiring leader and great person to work for/with. You will be missed immeasurably. I wish your wife and girls and other loved ones all the best.
Thank you for being a great friend and mentor, and for always believing in me!
Love ya.

I was Cpt Lofgren's First Sergeant with the 275th Sig Co, 41St Sig Bn in Korea from 1980 to 1984. His year was 1982-83 I believe. A great Commander, calm, decisive, firm who most of all took great care of his soldiers. Although I am in my 70's now, I have never forgotten him and wondered where he went until now. I am heartbroken for his family, but Captain Lofgren had the great potential to go places as he was an extrelemely intelligeant man and I remember the good times we had together.

Scott has been a friend of the college for many years. He was always available and willing to help when I had a problem. As a member of the college's advisory board, Scott provided valuable insight and guidance from his perspective at Bentley Systems, Inc. I know Scott touched many people directly, but there are hundreds and hundreds of students who unknowingly owe a lot to this purposeful man. Occasionally in life, a person's path will intersect mine and I know there is something special about this encounter that transcends coincidence. Such is the case with Scott. I feel honored to have known him and he will be missed. (Community College of Baltimore County).

Our best memory is playing pool after a 'date' night dinner. Through out the game, Scott could not resist giving Arlene and Sandy significant ribbing over our 'poor' skills with the pool stick. While Scott was attempting to repeat Phil's successful but difficult shot he missed the cue ball by a wide margin! After all the teasing about OUR lack of skill, we fell on the floor laughing!

Back when we had that mini-earthquake here on the East Coast, Scott must have been in the Exton, PA, Bentley office headquarters (or was there soon after) and we shared our experiences. After that, every time he was back in the Exton office and stopped by to say hello, he'd sneak up behind me and shake my chair like it was an earthquake. No matter what I was doing or how pressured I felt at the moment, I would laugh and laugh! A silly little story but it so captures the essence of Scott. If I had to narrow my description of him down to but a few words, I would definitely choose "joie de vivre."

It has been both an honor and a pleasure to work for Scott over the eight years since he joined Bentley. Scott was a true leader, acting as a mentor and motivator for everyone he met. He was a model of dedication and a passionate advocate for his Academic team and our mission. Under Scott's leadership, the Be Careers Network team and programs truly helped to support schools and students all over the world.
Scott was consistently open, direct and honest with everyone. Just as importantly, Scott was always there to roll up his sleeves and get involved wherever and whenever he could to make a difference. His high expectations and firm leadership made us all constantly push for more—and thus achieve more than most would think possible.
Of the many lessons I learned from Scott, as both a mentor and friend, one from his days in the Army speaks volumes at this moment: "Mission First, People Always."
He will be greatly missed, but Scott's spirit lives on as strong and inspiring as ever.
With deepest sympathy, Laura Meier

I've had the pleasure of working with Scott the past 5 years at Bentley. Scott was always positive, full of energy and passionate not only for his job but also for those he works with. He was a great manager, you never felt that you were working for Scott but working with him as a team. He was always very caring, understanding, helpful and truly interested in your work and personal life. I always enjoyed sharing stories on wedding planning with him as he prepared for his daughter's big day. His sense of humor and zest will truly be missed. Deepest sympathy to all his family and friends, may Scott's jokes and your fond memories of him lift you up in this difficult time.

I have had the great pleasure to work with Scott during his time with Bentley Systems. He came to see me in the early part of the last decade some time before I retired from my Architecture practice and we immediately struck gold as he discovered I was a one-time member of the UK chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers. After retirement I have had the privilege of assisting Bentley through Scott with their Careers Network activities in the UK. I was forever impressed by his boundless enthusiasm for imparting important knowledge to young people and the meticulous care he took to ensure this was achieved. His family should know that he was appreciated beyond measure this side of the Atlantic and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

I had a pleasure of working for Scott since he joined Bentley more than 7 years ago. He was outstanding people manager, the best I ever came across in my career. Working in his team always felt like working in the family where people helped each other towards achieving common goals. He was caring and understanding, energetic and passionate, open and direct, motivating and helpful, but also demanding and expecting nothing less than the excellence from himself and others.
The last time that I met Scott in a person was in August of 2012 at his home when he invited my colleague and me for a dinner with his wife and him. It was an evening full of typical Scott's humor, something that I will remember for a long long time.
He will be missed forever.

We often spoke of the upcoming wedding in which he was excited about. We at Archway will miss him! Arlene, Jennifer & Courtney we will pray for God to walk through this time with you!

Arlene, Jennifer and Courtney – Please accept my most sincere condolences on Scott’s passing. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Scott sporadically over his eight years with Bentley and he always brought such a positive attitude to the project and conversation. I know that no words can assuage the pain caused by the sudden passing of a loved one; I can only pray for you all that you are somewhat comforted by how much we all enjoyed him too – thank you for sharing him with us! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
