Obituary of Harriet Leslie Todd

HARRIET LESLIE TODD (Age 90) Passed peacefully on May 17, 2013 at her home of 38 years in Reston, Va. Affectionately known as "Bee," she was born on Dec 31, 1922 in Joliet, Illinois. A graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin and postgraduate of Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois, Bee taught first graders in Stokie, Illinois. During WWII, she served as staff sergeant in the Women's Marine Corps Reserve, after which she shared 62 happy years of marriage with Charles Gilbert Todd, also a WWII veteran, who preceded her in death in 2011. Bee is survived by her niece, Jane (Larry) Everett of Copperopolis, CA and her nephew, Craig (Emily) Wolffing of Green River, WY, their families, and numerous fond friends and neighbors spanning many years and locations including Brasil, where the Todds lived for 17 years. Bee loved gardening, crewel work, and most of all enjoying her family and friends; she will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Services will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
