Obituary of Agnes M. Matheny

Matheny, Agnes M. (Age 87) Of Sterling, VA on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Sterling. Agnes was born on July 16, 1925 in Morgantown, WV to the late William G. and Hazel Minor. Agnes taught at West Virginia University where she obtained a Masters Degree in English. She was a teacher and administrator at St. James Catholic School for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and shopping. She was a devout catholic who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Harry E. Matheny, Jr.. Devoted mother of Mark (Debbie) Matheny of Goldvein, VA, Chris (Kathleen) Matheny of Ashburn, VA, Patrick (Laura) Matheny of Fairfax, VA, David Matheny of Ashburn, VA, Lawrence (Carol) Matheny of Lovettsville, VA Mary (Eric) Erlendson of Ashburn, Va, Judy (Chip) Welsh of Round Hill, VA, and the late Anne Matheny. She was the proud Grandmother of 13 and Great Grandmother of 9. The family will receive friends at ADAMS-GREEN FUNERAL HOME, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, Va on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Interment Fairfax Memorial Park.
