Angelica Judith Retta, 54 Angelica J. Retta died peacefully in her home in Leesburg, VA on Thursday, June 13th after a courageous battle with cancer. A visitation service will take place at the Adams-Green funeral home 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Visitation hours are Wednesday, June 19th from 2PM - 4PM and from 6PM - 8PM. The funeral service will be at 10:30am on Thursday, June 20th at St. Veronica's Catholic Church on 3460 Centreville Road in Chantilly, VA The burial service will be at 12:30 pm on Thursday at Union Cemetery, 323 North King Street , Leesburg, Virginia Angelica was born on May 9, 1959 in Marlborough, MA to Richard D. Bonazzoli and Barbara A. (LiPetri) Bonazzoli of Hudson, Massachusetts. She graduated from Assabet Valley Regional High School in 1977 and enlisted in the US Marine Corps from 1978 - 1982 achieving the rank of Sergeant. From 1984 - 1992, Angelica served both in Washington and abroad (including Zaire and Chad) as a communications officer for the State Department. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in music from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. in 1995. She would often bring tears of joy to those who heard her sing Ava Maria in church. Her faith was an inspiration to all those who were close to her and she will be deeply missed. She often mentioned that the most fulfilling roles of her life were that of a wife and mother. She devoted much of her life to motherhood and home schooled her children though the 8th grade. She is survived by her husband Stephen M. Retta, her son, Carlo F. Retta, her daughter, Lavinia T. Retta, her brothers, David, Brian, Richard, Matthew and Damian Bonazzoli and her sisters, Nancy Bonazzoli and Laura Bonazzoli. Angelica was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Bonazzoli.
