Obituary of Eleanor Ann Peart

Eleanor Ann Peart, 90, of Reston, Virginia, passed away at her home on June 14, 2013. Eleanor was born in Denver, Colorado, on February 23, 1923, to Agnes and Ross Johnson. She served in the United States Marine Corps as a rifle instructor during World War II and graduated from Pepperdine University in 1951. Eleanor worked as a Benefit Plans Supervisor for Union Oil Company for 21 years. She enjoyed reading, dogs, cats, horse racing, crossword puzzles, and shopping. Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Caroline Hamilton; her son, Franklin Peart Jr., her grandaughter, Diana Thomas; her grandson, Eric Peart; 5 great grandchildren; and other family and friends. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin, a Marine Corps DFC recipient, and her brother, Roger. The family suggests memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
