Obituary of Patricia Ann Ruggiero

Patricia Ann Ruggiero, 83, of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina passed away at her daughter's home in Chantilly, Virginia on Monday June 24th, 2013. Patricia was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 24, 1930 to William and Marion Loftus. She graduated from St. Vincent's nursing program as an R. N. and began working at Brooklyn Hospital. She and her beloved husband of 57 years raised their family in Montclair, New Jersey before relocating to Vienna, Virginia in 1978. Upon their retirement in 1988 Patricia became an active member of the Pine Knoll Shores Supper Club and enjoyed family, friends, needlepoint and volunteering through the Ladies Club. Patricia is survived by her daughters Carol Triest, Lynne Shawkey, Patricia Ruggiero, and Jeanne Riggs; her grandsons Justin Shawkey, Mitchell Shawkey, and Tyler Riggs; her granddaughter Lauren Riggs, and her brother William Loftus. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert. Pat was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and exceedingly loyal friend to many. A funeral mass will be held on June 29, 2013 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Chantilly, Virginia at 11:30 am.
