Kathleen Marie Bocca was born on “Pill Hill”, in Oakland, California on June 18, 1949, to her doting parents Lydia Pauline (Mattioda) Bocca and Peter Charles Bocca. She was welcomed into the family by her older sister Charlene. Kathy graduated from Presentation High School (1967) and went on to receive an Associate degree at Diablo Valley College (1969) and a Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology at San Jose State University in 1971. She completed her formal education with a Master in Education degree at the University of Ottawa (Canada) in 1995. Married to Craig Hendon Daugherty in 1974 she gave birth to Nathan Peter Daugherty in 1976 and Tara Kathleen Daugherty in 1978. Kathy is the proud grandmother of twin girls, Elyse and Lyla born in 2009. Kathy retired from Fairfax County Public Schools as a Speech Clinician in 2011. On August 28, 2013, this fine mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend was carried “On Eagles Wings” to a better place. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
