The anniversary of a dear loved one can bring on feelings that we never thought were there and these feelings can hurt us just as much today as they did when we first lost our loved ones. Therefore, I hope that you will accept my extended condolences. Hopefully, too, you will continue to hold onto the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at John 5:25, 28, 29. Again, please accept my extended condolences.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies in the loss of your dear loved one. How comforting in knowing Almighty God has not only the power but also the desire to resurrect our loved ones. Jesus himself said: "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28,29

We (the Murrah family) lived next door to the Norfolk family for approximately 30 years. Living next to them was the highlight of my life. We all had loads of fun having family and friends so close. Living on Tobin Road was wonderful and I still stop by to remember how great it was.
We will always love and miss you Aunt Evelyn.

´A Grand Life"

How can I describe my Mama, Evelyn? She was a renaissance woman. Anything and everything she did whether it was learning a new task or skill. Evelyn embraced it with excellence. She did all things with EXCELLENCE. She sewed, cooked, gardened, painter, a self-taught carpenter. She was always learning! Being her only daughter was sometimes a daunting example to follow. I was like: "How can I every life up to her. She does every so well with excellence". As I grow up and became myself, I accept that I was me and she was Evelyn. I was happy to have her example and friendship! Our journey together was full great fun with many great adventures.
My family memories began for me and my brothers at our little house on Tobin Road. That little house was both humble and warm. Everyone that came to our home felt welcomed by Evelyn. She was always working, cleaning, sewing, creating and decorating that house. She reinvented it!
Mom always welcomed friends and family to her home. She welcomed new and old friends through the years. Evelyn took all ones she loved and placed them under her sturdy wings as place of love and safety. IT was a special place to be in her care! She never forgot you!! Ever!!!
Under those wings of love was my daddy, Jimmy. He was number 1. Her was her everything!! The other half of her, making her whole. Jimmy and Evelyn were Evelyn and Jimmy one person. They were soul mates! Anyone and everyone that knew them or meet them knew of their devotions to each other. They always walked hand in hand! I cannot remember a time when they were not in step: They walked together as the two people, but were one!
My mom devoted her life to him. My brothers and I understood that about them. It was a beautiful relationship and marriage. She traveled through life with him for 63 years. He was everything to her. My Brothers James "Skip" and Jerry was other symbols of their love. She loved her children! She taught and guided us always. She never gave up on us. She always loved us.
Then came the golden years: Time of retirement, grandchildren, Eddie and Shannon, and great grandchild, Sabrina, Samantha and Shaun. The golden times was so special! My family has memories of times with mom and dad at their beach house in Corolla. Our favorite place. A place called, "On Carolina Time"! And it was! Time slowed to sounds of the ocean! Sounds of laughter! Sound of basketball hitting the back drop of our basketball hoop! Sounds of talks of treasured memories! Sounds of voices catch up to the lasted news! Sounds of splashing in the ocean! Sounds of Granddaddy fishing! Sounds of Grandma Evelyn cooking her famous "Meat Loaf"! Sounds of friends dropping in for a visit! Sounds of Love! Sounds of reminders and whispers, of Evelyn forever! - "On Carolina Time"
Mom's last words last week to me were these, I am going away! I will love you forever!!! I replied, me too Mama!! I love you forever!!
And I'll see again soon Mama! Along with daddy, Skip and Jerry "ON CAROLINA TIME"

My mother Evelyn was born December 28, 1928. She was the daughter of John Belvin Murrah and Lillie Bell Murrah. Evelyn was the youngest of 5 children. Her siblings were Dorothy Noble, Thelma Thomas, Velma Ney and John E. Murrah. She arrived in this world at the dawn of the Great Depression. She was born in a rural farming community in Widner, Arkansas. Her sister Thelma, shared the story of her birth with me many years ago. Thelma said, "We children were much my innocent than kids today". She related, that the Doctor arrived at their home with a BIG BLACK BAG. At his arrival, the children were sent to stay with relatives. When the children, arrived back home, cradled in their Mother Lillie's arms was a beautiful baby girl, Evelyn. They were so excited by her birth!! The siblings were questioning each other about how she got there?? After discussing it among themselves, they agreed that the Doctor must have brought her to them as late Christmas gift. She must have been in his BIG BLACK BAG.
