Obituary of Joy P. Walker

Joy P Walker of Reston Virginia passed away peacefully in the hospital on Saturday, November 30, 2013. She was 86 years old. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Freida Pettiford of Birmingham, Alabama. The three children and their spouses that survive Joy Walker are: Sharon Tinney (Glenn) of Herndon, Virginia, Larry Nix (Fran) of Meridian, Idaho, and Jerry Nix of Jackson, Mississippi. She had seven grandchildren; Tonya Rosales (Omar), Allison Tinney (Kevin Yaussy), Glenn Tinney Jr, Scott Martin, Emily Mason (Matthew), and Daniel Nix (Tasha), fourteen grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister Gay Thompson of Orlando, Florida, and preceded in death of her brother, Stacey Pettiford. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 6, beginning at 11:45 AM at Adams-Green Funeral Home located on 721 Elden Street, in Herndon Virginia. The burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon Virginia beginning at 1:00 PM.
