Obituary of Alex Otero

Alex Otero, 64, was born on January 23, 1949 in Havana, Cuba to Yolanda and Francisco. He died on January 12, 2014 in his home in Reston, VA after a fighting a long battle with cancer. Loving husband of Rhoda Otero, brother of Francisco Otero of Miami Fl, father to Candace Otero of Miami Fl., Shaun Nunez of Miami Fl., Vannessa Norton of Reston, VA, Natasha Otero of Reston, VA, and Robert Otero of Reston, VA. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren. Professionally, Alex was a Carpentry Foreman in construction, a Press Operator at Charter Printing, and he ended his career as a Facilities Engineer in December of 2012 when he retired. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, watching old John Wayne westerns, and spending time with his family, friends and his dogs. He is greatly missed by his loved ones. A party celebrating Alex's life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2013 at 5:30 PM and will continue until around 11:00 PM, at the Reston Community Center Gallery in Lake Anne Plaza. Food and beverages will be provided, but anyone interested in bringing a favorite dish or beverage to share, they are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the dog rescue charity of your choice.
