Conrad Albert Roehling, of Sterling, VA passed on January 28, 2014, in the loving presence of his family, at the age of 81. Born September 22, 1932 to parents Viola Jane Moffit and Charles Henry Roehling of Washington, DC, Conrad served his country honorably in the United States Reserves and as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, until 1957. Before his discharge, he married his lifetime love, Barbara Lee Wright, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Conrad was the first in his family to graduate from college, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Benjamin Franklin University. Conrad was preceded in death by his sister Carlotta Pizzuto and survived by his sister Cathy Starbuck, his devoted wife Barbara, his children Theresa Kay Polk of Potomac Falls, VA, Charles Henry Roehling II of Ashburn, VA, Denise Michelle Johnson of Sterling, VA and his six granddaughters Katie, Amber, Morgan, Samantha, Nicole and Emily. His legacy will continue to shine bright in the unwavering love of his wife, children and grandchildren who count him as the greatest man on earth.
A memorial service will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA on Saturday February 1, 2014 at 11 am and a viewing will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 between 5-8 pm. Flowers may sent to the funeral home or memorial donations may be made to his lifelong charity, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
