PATRICIA ERICKSON CAINE July 13, 1933 - March 20, 2014 On Thursday, March 20, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Dixon Caine; mother of John Dixon Caine, Julie Caine Chatelain, Kristina Noel Caine and Jennifer Anne Caine Leila; grandmother of Lucienne Patricia Chatelain, John Marco Caine Leila and Arthur Hugh Caine Leila; and best friend to her poodle Beau. Majorette led the marching band with her baton, and her lifelong love of the Rockies began on skis near St. Anthony, Idaho. University of Utah Class of 1955. New York University, 1956, M.S., Retailing. Gifted pianist, seamstress and artist, with quick wit and ready warmth. Skillful prankster and stick-figure illustrator, and fiercely competitive at the bridge table. Loyal Navy wife and natural hostess, devoted to her family, friends and home filled with pets, pianos and surprises. Diverse, enterprising professional life as a sportswear and couture buyer, interior designer, primary school music teacher, college instructor and State Department program assistant. Community service leadership roles in fine arts, fashion education, Navy relief organizations and the LDS church. Memorial service and burial at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
