My heartfelt condolence to the entire Rickmers family at the loss of their husband, father and grandfather. The graphic arts and printing industry has lost a master craftsman in statistical quality control as it applies to print quality on a press sheet. Having taken a one week class at RIH in the 1970's, while working in the printing quality control section of the US Govt Printing Office, I appreciated his instruction and knowledge of the work that I was doing in private printing plants throughout the USA. After taking his class, I enrolled in the local community college for additional into regarding statistical quality control. I have never forgotten Dr. Rickmers name or the impression he made upon me over the past 30 years. I wish that I could have taken this class as well as others a lot earlier in my career as it would have made a difference in how I approached my work. Yours in craftsmanship, Walter B.
