Obituary of Richard Vernon Beach

Richard Vernon Beach Richard Vernon Beach, affectionately known to so many as Uncle Dick, 77 of Colonial Beach, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 8, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Richard, originally from Great Falls, VA, was the son of the late Warren and Alice Beach. Richard served in the Army and was a retired businessman. The things he enjoyed most in life were spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed cruising around the beach on his golf cart, always taking time to stop and talk with people. Uncle Dick often had a story to share and certainly always looked for the good qualities in everyone he met. He touched so many people's lives in various ways. To know Uncle Dick was to love Uncle Dick. He certainly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gene and Floyd, as well as his sister, Alice Wright. Richard is survived by his niece, Kim Jones and her husband Wes, nephew Randall Wright and his fiancée , Paige Collier, his great nieces, Brittany Jones and Karsen Wright, great nephews, Aaron Jones and Owen Wright, and great- great niece, Harmony Roy, all of Colonial Beach. His sisters, Eleanor Jones of Falls Church, Lavinia Lambert and Evelyn Bullock of Great Falls, Alma Updike of Herndon, Barbara Bilbow of Sterling and Nancy Ellen of Richmond, as well as many other nieces, nephews and special friends. The family will receive friends on Monday April 14, 2014 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170 where funeral services will take place at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Great Falls, VA.
