Obituary of Iris Mae Selph

On this earth eighty-eight years, and in our hearts forever. Iris Mae Selph was so many things to so many people over her life… Daughter, sister, patriot, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Iris lost her mom as a child and left her farm home in West Virginia at seventeen for Washington, DC. Mom joined the war effort and served her country working for the Federal Government through World War II and many years following, married a soldier, raised and cared for her family. Always full of spunk, she was a firecracker… She did it her way, and will be missed by many whose lives she touched. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her memory be made to the charity of your choice, or the family preference of the National Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.
