Obituary of Adele J. Mead

Adele Jane Mead (Miller, nee Nadeau) passed peacefully at her home with her husband Joseph Mead at her side. Adele was born on June 29, 1933 in Watertown, Ct. to Albert and Florence Nadeau. Her younger siblings are Sylvia Flynn, Don Nadeau, and Butch Nadeau. Adele graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, Ct. Adele graduated from the St. Francis Nursing School in Waterbury. Adele married L. Charles Miller in 1958. Together they had five children - sons Kevin, Cary, Tim, Mark, and daughter Faye. In her career, Adele worked as a nurse at Providence Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association, and finished her career as a nurse with the FBI. Adele loved her faith, dancing, tennis, traveling, especially to foreign countries where she met Joseph Mead, from Baltimore, who became her husband. They enjoyed ten wonderful years together. Adele was blessed with thirteen grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Adele will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, VA from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Interment at a later date will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services or Food for the Poor.
