Obituary of Charles Franklin Schied

Schied, Charles Franklin, CDR USN (Ret.) Age 86 Of Reedville, VA, died May 19, 2014 at Retreat Hospice in Richmond, VA. Beloved husband of Peggy Ann Schied of Reedville, VA; Loving father of Charles F. Schied, Jr. (Judith) of Pomfret, MD and Jeffrey C. Schied (Cathy) of Ashburn, VA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Aaryn, Shelley (Tony), Christie (Beau) and J.C. and four great grandchildren, Anthony, Liam, Brayden and Madelyn. CDR Schied served as a fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict earning the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA 20170. A graveside service will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Navy -Marine Corps Relief Society at nmcrs.org.
