David Lowe
David Lowe, 58 of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on 4 June 2014 after a long illness due to complications caused by diabetes.
He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and graduated from New Bedford High School in 1974. He went on to graduate from Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMass, Dartmouth) in 1978 with a BS degree in Electronics Engineering.
He started his professional career with the Federal Government in 1978 working as an engineer for the Naval Electronic Systems Security Engineering Center (NESSEC) in Washington, DC. Later, he went on to work at the REWSON Project Office at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in Arlington, Virginia. His last duty station was in Suitland, Maryland supporting the Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM). He retired in 2012 after thirty-four years of dedicated government service.
He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Lowe of New Bedford, Massachusetts; one sister, Jeanne Evenden of Corvallis, Oregon; three brothers, Alan Lowe of Honolulu, Hawaii, Steven Lowe of Reston, Virginia and Paul Lowe of Los Angeles.
Arrangements are by the Adams-Green Funeral Home on 721 Elden Street in Herndon, Virginia. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 14 June at the Adams-Green Funeral Home from 2-4 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Humane Society of your choice or the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
