I was shocked to hear about the tragic demise of Sriram Chakrapani. A number of members in the middle class, in this country United States of America, pursue the American dream. My deepest condolences and sympathies to his immediate family. Having flown several thousand miles from a township called Kailasapuram I deeply regret his demise. The school we shared RSK Higher secondary school is ready for the 50th year celebrations in 2014. We shall miss Sriram Chakrapani. Be is a email message or a photograph from RSK days in Facebook he was a source of encouragement and support. As Advaita philosphers have it the sum total of all atmas is the paramatma.

Dear Deepa, Children and the family members - We the RECTians are saddened to learn about the untimely demise of our friend and brother Sriram. We have known Sriram from REC days, and he was not only a great college buddy, but also, a dear friend and brother to all of us. He was always helpful, optimistic and bubbly, whenever he was in the midst of us. With that said, we are sure, more than us, you as family members have this unanswered question “Why God… such an early age?” - While none of us are qualified to give you a convincing answer –please be assured, that we are here to empathize and sympathize with you all – and to whatever it is worth, here is our inspired answer from the scriptures of east and the west. The first example is an untimely/unjustly demise of Abhimanyu, the beloved son of Arjuna, in the hands of Kauravas, in Mahabharata - and this is how the story unfolds, wherein Krishna makes a stunning discourse to Arjuna in Geetha '' Do not think that Abhimanyu is being taken away unjustly and untimely, rather, it is my will that I predestined his demise for a larger purpose of fulfilling your family’s vow (i.e. to fulfill Pandava brothers’ vow of settling scores with Kauravas, the task, left alone would have been completed by Abhimanyu, which means, the vow would not have been fulfilled” – and so, kauravas are just actors in fulfilling Krishna’s will of taking Abhimanyu’s life prematurely from this world. Similarly, Jesus had to leave this world at an early age for a larger purpose of saving the humanity– in spite of Him crying to His Father in the last minute - “Father, if possible, take away this cup from me” – but, then, God the father, did not answer that prayer and had to surrender Jesus to death for fulfilling His larger purpose of saving the humanity! I guess, we humans, have to taste the cup of suffering in one form or another, and so, the only way to deal with it is to discern the larger purpose and learn to cope up with it. With that said, we would be the first one to agree that no comforting words, can give you the satisfying answer at this moment - however, we will say this - “TIME”, in most cases, will give an answer, as TIME, in the words of Solomon, is not only a healer, but also a purpose provider (as it happened in scriptural examples above) - and so, our prayer today is, may the good Lord continue to provide you the comfort, until that TIME, you find the larger purpose! With deepest sympathies and warm regards, RECT (NITT) Friends
