Obituary of Phyllis Strock Goloway

Phyllis Strock Goloway, beloved wife of Edward Daniel Goloway and adored mother of Stephanie Goloway and Frances Goloway (Roy Forshaw), passed away on August 8, 2014 in Sterling VA. Phyllis was born on October 29, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Col. Glen Teter Strock and Ruth Martin Strock. She was proud of being an "army brat." She graduated from Tobé-Coburn for Fashion Careers and the University of Maryland. Phyllis traveled extensively and lived abroad in Iran, Sweden and Finland with her family. A creative artist and tireless volunteer, Phyllis shared her skills and faith with various Episcopal diocesan churches and organizations. Phyllis touched everyone around her with her smile, her love of life and her humor. In addition to her husband of 61 years and her daughters, Phyllis leaves behind two grandchildren, Ezekiel and Jinnie Templin, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on August 22 at 10 AM at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 201 E Frederick Dr, Sterling, VA 20164. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew's.
