your daughter Gina :) posted a condolence

Hi again Mamma,
I just wanted to let you know what a beautiful service you had. Everyone was there including people whom you haven't met, but appreciate everything that your have brought into this world.
Today I went to visit your grave again. You are in a beautiful location to the left of a pretty tree. After I left, my feet were wet from the morning dew... A great reminder of the peaceful place you are now in. Your flowers seemed to be munched on by some happy little animals welcoming you into a new home. The flowers that are left there are still placed where you lay.
You are SO loved by SO many people. We continue to talk about the amazing memories we have of you.
Susan says you are an angel now. I can only imagine how beautiful you are up there looking down on us and keeping us in order. You mean so much to everyone. (Keep your cussing down...you'll make more friends...or actually maybe not...just do you! Anyone is bound to love your spunky personality!)
Do you think dad knows you used to take me to McDonalds as a treat sometimes after half day kindergarten? And we would always come home and watch the price is right! What a crazy memory from all the way back in kindergarten!
I'll never forget the life I spent with you and all the great times we had together.
I love you mamma always and forever.

Ronnie had just moved back to VA from PA and was staying with my family. It was winter and she had very chapped lips and an interview sccheduled for the following Monday. We had picked her up from PA and brought her and all her stuff back on Friday. That night I had tried to help her and so gave her some Neosporin to heal her chapped lips. I had forgotten they had recently added Lidocaine to Neo, and she put it on her lips. The next morning my husband, David, and I were at the microwave in the kitchen, making tea and coffee, when Ronnie came downstairs. David and I took one look at her an busted out laughing(sorry, Ronnie!) because she came in and stood in front of us, hand on hip, with GIANT lips!!! She was obviously allergic to the Lidocaine in the Neo. Her lips had swelled up at least 3x their normal size!!! She finally, after an hour, saw the humorous side of it and it became one of our best memories of our times together. Once again... SORRY, RONNIE!!!!!

M sister, Ronnie, was the sweetest, most kind-hearted person I have ever known. She worked very hard at trying to be the perfect wife, mother, sister, and friend to all of us who were blessed to know her. I don't have the words to express how much I loved her or how very badly I miss her. There will never be a time when I don 't miss her. We spent our childhood in Rutland, VT. attending St. Peter's Church and the schools attached. We sang in choir while Mom played the organ. We attended St. Peter's School and the older kids- Diana, Debbie, Veronica, and Earl- went to Mount St. Joseph High School. In 1974 we moved to Fairfax, VA. and attended Oakton High School. Veronica worked at several jobs, like Paramount Pest Control, and finally married Joe Baker, settling in Reston, VA. She had 3 little girls and I had 2 little boys. We spent as much time together as we possibly could! We spent summers going to the National Zoo and swimming at Harpers Ferry, W. VA. After she and Joe split, she lived for a short time just up the street from us. Later, she and her grandbaby, Emma, moved to Providence Village in Sterling, VA. giving me the opportunity to spend even more quality time with her-and Emma! Every day they would come over and we would gab for hours! I am going to miss that severely. My heart is so broken. We have lost someone who made us all feel rich and blessed beyond belief. I will forever love you, Ronnie!!! Thank you for allowing me to have such a fantastic blessing in my life. I cannot say good-bye. So "See you soon, Harmonica!!" is good . I will be seeing you in my sleep and in sudden bursts of memory. I love you SO MUCH!!!
